Odisha weather update: Thunderstorm alert issued for 9 districts

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorm and lightning for nine districts of Odisha today.

According to the latest bulletin issued, parts of Angul, Deogarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur and Nayagarh will experience moderate thunderstorm and lightning.

Such weather conditions will be accompanied by light rainfall and will prevail between 3:45 pm and 6:45 pm, today.

Gusty wind, rainfall and thunderstorm lashed areas in Odisha, namely Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Puri, Dhenkanal, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, last evening.

Such thunderstorms have led to mercury plummeting in the coastal state of Odisha in the last few days.
