Odisha woman sent to jail for slitting youth’s genital

Keonjhar: Police have arrested a woman of Harichandanpur area in Odisha’s Keonjhar district for allegedly chopping off a youth’s genital.

The arrested woman, identified as Kamala Patra, was sent to judicial custody after being produced before the court. A sharp weapon used in the incident was also seized by police from her possession.

On the other hand, Rajendra Nayak, the victim, has been shifted to the Surgery ward of the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. His condition is stated to be stable, hospital sources said.

Correctional surgery will be performed on November 12 for repair of the mutilated organ, sources added.
