Odisha woman’s body found hanging from tree, kin allege murder

Balangir: Body of a married woman was found hanging from a tree at Samalei Nagar in Ichhapada area of Odisha’s Balangir district today.

Family members of the deceased woman, identified as Sushma Seth, have alleged that she was murdered by her friend.

According to family sources, she had gone out with her male friend around 4 PM yesterday. The woman’s friend was unable to inform about her whereabouts when being asked by her kin around 9 PM.

The body was later found hanging from the tree this morning. On being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. An unnatural death case has been registered into the incident. Actual reason behind the death can be ascertained after the autopsy, police said.
