Odisha: Women’s college website hacked, homepage replaced with porn site

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, some unknown hackers jailbroke the website of Bhubaneswar-based Kamala Nehru Women’s College replacing the homepage of the site with a porn site.

The matter came to fore last evening when the users visited the webpage of the Kamala Nehru College seeking some information regarding admission ahead of commencement of academic session this year.

The users found a cartoon with a content ‘Hacked By Dik4h4nZ’ and ‘Security Attack!!!’ on the bottom after opening the site. When clicked on the contact, which was written just below ‘Security Attack!!!’, the site was redirected to a leading porn site showing sex video content in different languages.

Taking quick action, the college authorities blocked the website to fix the issue.

“Action has been taken just after news on jailbreak of the website circulated on social media. I came to know about the hacking last evening and I have informed the police about it. A written complaint will be lodged at the Capital Police Station today,” said Principal of the college Pradipta Kumar Mishra.

“We will also register a formal complaint with the Cyber police station in this regard.”

According to reports, the website of the college is managed by a private firm. Earlier, some technical glitches had occurred with the site. Even after the incident, the firm was again assigned for managing and maintaining the site.

Earlier, the websites of Utkal University and BPUT have also been hacked many times. However, the hacking during admission season in the college shocked everyone in the college.
