Odisha youth develops intimacy with girls, blackmails them with sex videos

Bhubaneswar: Befriending a youth on Facebook and developing relationship with him eventually turned nightmare for two girls of Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar as the former allegedly recorded their intimate moments with him and blackmailed them with the clips.

The victims approached Friends Foundation, a city-based NGO, following which two separate complaints were lodged at Saheed Nagar and Chandrasekharpur police stations against Soumya Ranjan Sahoo, the accused, hailing from Angul and a resident of Sailashree Vihar in the city.

According to reports, Sahoo became friend with a girl of Unit-9 here on Facebook and developed relationship with her after meeting her at a mall.

Sahoo once took her to his flat where he had physical relationship with her after offering her spiked drink and recorded the act. As the girl told him to approach police over the incident, he married her at a temple in the city. However, he later started staying away from the girl. On being confronted, he threatened her of making the video of their private moments viral on social media, the girl alleged.

Similarly, he trapped another girl of Sailashree Vihar after becoming friend with her on Facebook. In a similar fashion, he took her to a hotel in Puri where he had physical intimacy with her. The incident was recorded by him with his mobile phone which was opposed by the girl following which he got married to her at a temple in Puri.

Much similar to the first case, Sahoo started avoiding the girl and also threatened her of posting the video on social media.

As per the allegations of the two girls, police have started investigation into the matter.
