Odisha youth kills mother for refusing to give money to buy liquor

Sundargarh: A youth allegedly killed his mother by crushing her with stone at Deobhubanpur village under Kinjirkela police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district last night after she refused to give him money for buying liquor.

According to reports, Mahesh Barla (25), the accused, asked his mother Samari Barla (62) to give him the old-age allowance money received by her for his liquor consumption.

The woman refused her son to give the money, following which he started crushing her head with a stone leading to her death on the spot.

On being informed by neighbours, police reached the village, seized the body for post-mortem and arrested the accused. A murder case has been registered into the incident and investigation is underway.
