Odisha zoo gets 26 animals from Chennai

Bhubaneswar: Total 26 animals were brought to Nandankanan Zoological Park from Chennai under exchange programme here on Tuesday.

A pair of Nilgiri langur, a pair of Malaysian python, four pairs of white peacock and 10 female painted grey cranes were among the animals who reached the zoo yesterday.

While 18 species were brought from Arignar Anna Zoological Park, eight American iguanas were purchased from a private organisation in Chennai.

A five-member team led by veterinary doctor Sharat Kumar Sahoo had visited Chennai on September 20 to bring 18 species from Chennai zoo in exchange of 19 animals from Nandankanan.
