Odisha’s Dipsan Tirkey in Indian team for Hockey Asia Cup

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Dipsan Tirkey found place in 18-member Indian team announced on Saturday for upcoming Hockey Asia Cup scheduled from October 11 till 22 in Bangladesh capital Dhaka.

Dipsan is the only player from the state to have been selected in the team headed by Manpreet Singh for the hockey event.

While Dipsan has been placed among the defenders in the squad, SV Sunil has been announced as the vice captain for the tournament.

Defenders: Dipsan Tirkey, Kothajit Singh, Surender Kumar, Harmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar

Midfielders: SK Uthappa, Sardar Singh, Manpreet Singh, Chinglensana Singh, Sumit

Forwards: SV Sunil, Akashdeep Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Gurjant Singh, Satbir Singh.
