Odisha’s infant mortality rate lowest among all States, informs Patnaik

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has achieved a major milestone as the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in the State has come down significantly in 2020 as compared to 2005. During a review meeting of the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stated IMR in the State has declined by 39 points.

Patnaik informed at present 36 infants die in every 1,000 live births in the State. The IMR in Odisha is the lowest among all the States, he added.

The Chief Minister congratulated the Health and Family Welfare Department, Women and Child Development Department and Mission Shakti Department for the achievement.

He advised everyone to join hands in the progress and development of the State.
