Odisha’s Keshab beats own world record

Bhubaneswar, Oct 29:

Guinness world record holder Keshab Swain smashed 92 green coconuts with his elbow in one minute to break his earlier record in Odisha capital.

Swain, a martial arts expert in Bhubaneswar, is the current Guinness world record holder for smashing 85 green coconuts with his elbow in one minute in 2012.

In an event held at Janata Maidan,  in the presence of sports enthusiasts and eager local audience, judges counted 92 coconuts being smashed by Kesab in 60 seconds.

For the coconut breaking event 135 green coconuts were arranged in a row out of which Swain could break 92 coconuts within a minute.

Industry Minister Debi Mishra and Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena were invited as guests to the event.

Swain continuously kept breaking the coconut for one minute and 39 seconds. Out of the 135 coconuts, he smashed 132 coconuts. The judges announced that Keshab had broken 92 coconuts in one minute.

This attempt at a world record was judged by Sports Officer of KIIT Gaganendu Dash and the founder-president of Indian Association of Kickboxing Organisations SS Harichandan.

Keshab said that he will send the video recordings to the Guinness world record officials and they will decide on the feat.
