A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Odisha’s KIIT University and Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) of Tibet Government in New Delhi on July 4, a KITT release todays aid.
The MoU was signed by Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, on behalf of KIIT, and Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, on behalf of CTA. As per the agreement, the two organizations will work in the areas of mutual interest in education, heritage, social development, livelihood and skill building.
They also agreed to promote Indo-Tibetan relationship. They will also undertake collaborative research, capacity building, pedagogy development, training and counseling and preservation and promotion of Tibetan culture. Further, KIIT will work for educational development of Tibetan people.
The Prime Minister of Tibet wished to work with KIIT after learning about track record of the university in the field of education and social service in eastern India. The KIIT Founder Dr Samant agreed to the proposal, which led to this MoU.
The Prime Minister of Tibet will visit KIIT and its sister concern, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), in the near future, the KIIT release said.
In another development, two universities of Mongolia – Hangai University and Soyol Erdene University – and one university of Kyrgyzstan, Naryn State University (NSU), have conferred honoris causa doctorate degree on Dr. Samanta, the release informed.
