Odisha’s KISS lift All India National U-19 & U-18 Rugby titles

The U-19 boys and U-18 girls teams of Odisha-based Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) emerged champions at the All India National U-19 Boys (15-a-side) and U-18 Girls (7-a-side) Rugby Tournament that concluded at Nagpur today.

Kiss rugbyWhile the KISS U-18 Girls team won the trophy defeating Jungle Crows by 24-0 points, the U-19 Boys KISS won the Champion defeating Jungle Crows, Kolkata by 13-7 points.

The Boys team included Kanhu Ch. Hembram, Hadi dhangada Majhi, Bikash ch. Murmu, Sunil Hembram, Prakash Ch. Soy, Budhadeb Pradhan, Chhitaranjan Murmu, Srinivas Sabar, Rajkishore Murmu, Kalicharan Biswal, Niranjan Biswal, Ganesh Ch. Hembram, Krshna Tudu, Sahadev Majhi, Rajendra Samad, Gouranga Jamuda, Ghasi Chalan, Dharmananda Bhoi, Laxman Soren, Nagrjun Bhoi, Sanjay Biswal, Dibyaranjan Das and Sarbeswar Murmu.

KISS rugbyThe Girls team included Meerarani Hembram, Hupi Majhi, Sumitra Nayak, Manjulata Pradhan, Soni Mandangi, Liza Sardar, Sumitra Banara, Rajani Sabar, Manika Majhi and Basanti Pangi.

Roshan Xaxa was the coach for both the teams.

Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr Achyut Samant has congratulated the members and officials of the winning teams.
