In these 31 years, Sambad has strived to uphold the interest and pride of Odisha and Odias. It will continue to raise the unheard voices of Odisha.

Kanak TV, which was started in 2009 with a message for a change in the Odia television scenario, has completed six years and has metamorphosed into Kanak News. In these years, Kanak News, has emerged as the true voice of the people and has provided a ray of hope for the distressed, the oppressed and the neglected. It has become the voice of those fighting for justice and has stood as like a rock for those raising their voice against injustice.

“Sambad has completed one more year and has stepped into its 32nd year today after completing 31. We are all very happy that the newspaper, which we started 31 years back with new technology, new get-up and taste, has been appreciated by the readers and has become the number one daily in Odisha. Today is also the birthday of Kanak Television; I personally congratulate my colleagues both in Kanak News and Sambad. I believe the two media wings, which have emerged as strong pillars, will be successful in achieving their goals,” said Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Chairman EML on the occasion.
