Odisha’s Ranjib Biswal set to retain IPL Chairman’s post

Odisha Sun Times Bureau

Speculation is rife that Ranjib is unlikely to be replaced as IPL chairman considering his clean and controversy-free tenure as the chief of the marquee tournament and before that as a manager on several tours.

Although none of the sub-committees has been announced, there won’t be any change in the IPL hierarchy with the Odisha administrator being at the helm of affairs, sources in the know said.

“Since Ranjib had supported Dalmiya’s bid of becoming the president of BCCI, we will support his retention as the IPL chairman. He has not performed poorly as the chairman and his tenure till now has been controversy free. So there is no point replacing him,” a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying.
