Odisha’s Ravenshaw University gets new VC

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr. S.C Jamir has appointed Prof. Ishan Kumar Patro as the new vice-chancellor (VC) of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack.

Patro is currently working as professor in School of Studies in Neuroscience/Zoology, Jiwaji University, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

“My prime focus will be on placement of students and innovative teaching,” Patro said in his reaction.

He did his graduation in Science stream at BJB College in Bhubaneswar with Zoology as Honours subject and M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D at Kurukshetra University.

Patro has a teaching experience of 29 years and administrative experience of 17 years as Head of the Department (HOD). He has to his credit 66 numbers of research papers publications in reputed national and international journals. Besides, 25 scholars under his guidance were awarded Ph. D degree.
