Odisha’s ruling BJD victorious in Balasore ZP by-poll

Balasore: In what can be termed as a small morale booster for Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of the Bijepur by-election, the party registered victory in Balasore Zilla Parishad zone-26 by-poll today.

The conch party’s candidate Kamal Sahoo emerged victorious defeating his nearest rival Parshuram Parida of BJP by a margin of 4117 votes.

As many as five candidates were in fray for the by-election where 36,984 voters had cast their votes.

The BJD had also won two ward by-polls in Paradip and Pattamundai municipalities recently.
