He was nabbed at around 9.30 am while deboarding the flight. He has been brought to Bhubaneswar and will be produced before Court today,” Twin City Commissioner YB Khurania said.

According to sources, police got a tip-off about Meher’s movement. He was changing his location from Ahmedabad to Kolkata.

Acting on this, police tracked Meher’s movement when he boarded a flight from Ahmedabad to Kolkata. The police team laid a trap in the airport to nab Meher. Following his arrival at the airport, the waiting cops apprehended him.

The most wanted inter-state sex racket kingpin would be produced before the court today, police source said.

Notably, as many as nine cases are pending against Meher of which he was wanted in three cases. He was active in Odisha and other states and operating sex racket.

It may be recalled that a Kyrgyz woman was rescued and a person identified as Somesh Panda was arrested during a raid on an apartment here in Chandrasekharpur area last month. It was alleged that Panda was an associate of Sunil Meher.

Earlier in March this year, Commissionerate police had formed a special team to nab Sunil Meher who managed to give police a slip during raids on their hideouts.
