Ollywood producer booked for exploiting live-in partner

Bhubaneswar: Yet again Ollywood is in news for the wrong reasons; a woman has charged a producer of sexual exploitation.

A woman today registered a case against renowned Odia film producer Pramod Swain at the Mahila police station here accusing him of sexual exploitation.

The police apart from recording statement of the complainant under section 161 of the CrPC have got her medically examined.

The woman who had been staying at Swain’s residence for a few months has alleged in her complaint that Swain had sexually exploited her by promising to cast her in films.

While Swain has gone into hiding ever since the woman lodged the complaint, police said he will be served with summons to appear before it soon.

“A case has been registered and investigation in the matter has commenced,” informed Twin City Police Commissioner Y B Khurania.

On being asked by reporters whether they were going to summon the accused for questioning, he said: “Action will be taken as per procedure laid down in CrPC.
