One arrested for duping job seekers of Rs 22 lakh in Odisha

Nayapalli police today arrested a person for allegedly duping people to the tune of Rs 22 lakh on the pretext of providing them jobs in East Coast Railway.

The accused, identified as Kishore Chandra Behera, was arrested from Baunsapani forest in Jharkhand after a 5-day long operation, reports said.

Behera, who was working as an electrician in East Coast Railway at Bansapani in Keonjhar district, had allegedly collected Rs 22 lakh from several job seekers by promising them to provide jobs in Railways.

“I know nothing about the incident. A broker namely Jagannath Rana went absconding with all the money for which I have to return the amount,” said Behera.
