One arrested for cheating jeweler in Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur, Mar 17:

Police arrested a person for cheating a jeweler in Sambalpur district here today.

The accused was identified as Himanshu Patra of the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh.

He is accused of cheating Sonika Jewelry owner Ashok Soni by capturing gold and diamond jewelries of Rs 27 lakh.

The Ainthapalli police arrested Patra and seized Rs 27 lakh worth jewelries and 10 fake voter ID cards.

According to reports, Patra had been staying at a rented house with a fake identity in name of James Wilson in the past six months. He allegedly cheated Ashok Soni posing as the project manger of a multinational company.
