One killed, 24 hurt in road mishap

One person was killed on the spot and at least 24 others injured in a road mishap near here on the National Highway No. 5 today when a loaded truck hit a mini bus from the rear.
A mini bus (OR07N2007), which was travelling from Balugaon to Brahmapur, turned turtle near here as it skidded off the road after being hit by a loaded truck (OR02AB5593) from the rear today.
While one Kanhu Charan Maharana of Chhatrapur Mediri Sahi was killed on the spot, at least 24 more were injured in the mishap.
The injured were first admitted to the Government Hospital at Chhatrapur.
While five are still undergoing treatment at Chhatrapur, 11 have been shifted to the MKCG Medical College Hospital at Brahmapur after their condition worsened. The others have been discharged after being given first aid.
