One killed, 27 others injured in road mishap in Odisha’s Rayagada dist

Rayagada, Jan 14:

A woman was killed and 27 others, including 14 women, were injured in a road mishap in Dangalodi village under Ambodola police limits in Odisha’s Rayagada district this evening. The deceased was identified as Sabita Bagh (16), a daily labourer of Deriguda village.

According to the  IIC Ranjeeb Pradhan of Ambodola police station, the pickup van in which the labourers were travelling was returning from a railway work site to Deriguda village when the driver of the vehicle lost control and the vehicle turned turtle.

Sabita fell down and came under the vehicle. Seriously injured Buda Palkia (50), Sumitra Palkia (45), and Lala Palkia (30) have been shifted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH), Rayagada while the other injured have been admitted in Ambodola PHC. The driver of the vehicle has fled from the spot, said police.
