One killed, 30 injured as pickup van hits auto in Odisha’s  Kendrapara  

Kendrapara: A person was killed and 30 injured after a pickup van carrying labourers had a head-on collision with an auto near Mangalpur in Kendrapara district this morning.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

All the injured were first rushed to Mahakalapada community health centre (CHC) and later shifted to the Kendrapara district headquarters hospital (DHH). Among the 30 inured, condition of two including the driver of the pick-up van is stated to be critical.

“The pickup driver was driving recklessly and lost control, following which the vehicle hit an auto coming from the opposite direction and later skidded off the road,” said an onlooker.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and started investigation into the incident.
