One killed, 6 injured as truck hits auto rickshaw in Odisha

In a tragic incident, one person died and six others sustained grievous injuries after the auto rickshaw carrying them was hit by a truck at Ekamakana Chhak on Nimapada-Pipili road in Odisha’s Puri district this morning.

According to reports, the mishap took place when they were returning to Bhubaneswar from Chandrabhaga in the auto rickshaw after taking a holy dip in the sea on the occasion of Magha Saptami.

A speeding flour-laden truck hit the three-wheeler reportedly due to dense fog killing a person on the spot and critically injuring six others.

The injured were rushed to Bhubaneswar for treatment.

The victims have been identified as residents of Baramunda in Bhubaneswar.

The truck fled the spot soon after the accident.
