Two killed as roof of cinema hall caves in

Two workers were crushed to death in the city today when part of the roof of the old Kalpana cinema hall here collapsed on them.

The mishap occurred when a part of the defunct cinema hall was being demolished.

Fire Brigade official Ramesh Majhi who led the rescue operation said , a part of the hall’s roof caved in on two workers who were engaged in the demolition of the side wall of the balcony space.

While one worker died on the spot, the other was pulled out of the debris in a serious condition and rushed to the Capital Hospital. However, he too succumbed to his injuries, reports said.
