One-month-old baby branded in Odisha

In yet another incident, a 35 day-old baby girl has been admitted to the Nabarangpur district hospital in a serious condition after being branded with hot iron bars in Odisha.

The month-old baby of Bhima and Kunda Muduli belonging to Papahandi block in Nabarangapur district was branded to cure her of some illness. As her condition grew serious they admitted her to the district hospital on Wednesday.

ADMO and child specialist Dharani Ranjan Satpathy after a check up has admitted the baby to the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) in Nabarangpur district hospital.

Notably, on March 12 Odisha police had arrested a woman for allegedly branding an infant with hot iron nails leading to his death in the district headquarters hospital here.
