Bhubaneswar: One more person from Odisha has been tested positive for deadly coronavirus (COVID19) taking the total number of infected people in the State to two.
Official sources said out of 14 samples sent to the RMRC, Bhubaneswar for tests, one was found to be positive for COVID-19.
The second confirmed case has a travel history to a COVID-19 affected country, the official sources added.
The State Surveillance Unit has initiated contact tracing, the sources added.
Earlier, a 33-year-old man from Bhubaneswar was tested positive for COVID-19. He had returned to India from Italy on March 6. Following the youth’s medical examination at Capital Hospital and on the basis of his blood and swab sample tests, it was found that he was infected with the deadly virus.
In India, the total tally of 169 include 25 foreign nationals -- 17 from Italy, 3 from the Philippines, two from the UK, one each from Canada, Indonesia and Singapore.
The figure also includes four deaths reported from Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Punjab so far.
