“The state has been witnessing interminable crimes everyday resulting in the tragic death of several innocent lives. The recent attack on the Law minister is one of these instances”, Patnaik said while addressing a dharna organized by the Bhubaneswar Vikash Manch at Raj Mahal Square here on Tuesday.

Coming down heavily on the failure of the state government to rein in the chit fund companies that are looting crores of money from the people, Patnaik urged the people to have a second thought before exercising their franchise in the ensuing general elections.

The dharna, organized by the secretary of the Manch Ganesh Das and convened by Debi Prasad Prusty and Amiya Pandav, was addressed by the speakers who called on the youths to fight against the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government.

Among others, youth leader Manoj Jena, senior advocate Sibananda Ray, Bijay Parida and columnist Tusharkanta were present.
