One-sided love of college student claims woman’s life in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: One-sided love of a college boy ended up with horrible consequence in Odisha capital where a married woman took extreme step to kill herself out of trauma and mental stress.

Police arrested the student identified as Tulu alias Biswajit Routray (21), whose one-side love forced the woman to end her life.

The deceased was identified as Sasmita Biswal (37) of Gopabandhu Nagar colony in unit 8 area of the city. She committed suicide consuming poison on Saturday after Biswajit, who is 16 years junior to her allegedly made her life hell.

According to reports, the accused had been proposing the woman on facebook chat for love many a time. When the woman rejected his proposal, he threatened to abduct her daughter, who is a class X student. She informed her husband Rabindra about it. He had also threatened her to kill her. Following repeated threats she lost her mental balance and took the extreme step to protect her daughter and husband from Biswajit.

She died at Capital Hospital on Saturday night after consuming poison.

Police arrested the accused after husband filed a case against him.

The accused was forwarded to court. The body has been handed over to husband Rabindra after autopsy. The truth will come to fore after the post-mortem report, said the police.
