One more tests positive for swine flu in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Feb 1:

One more person tested positive for swine flu (H1N1) virus in Odisha on Saturday. With this, the number of patients who have tested positive for the dreaded disease in the state has reached four. However, no deaths have been reported due to swine flu this year.

swine flu virusThe samples sent to Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) here confirmed that the person is afflicted with the virus.

The 42-year-old patient hailing from Mukundaprasad in Khordha has been admitted to a private hospital here and is undergoing treatment.

According to hospital sources, the patient is a diabetic and has a history of kidney disorders for which the doctors are finding it difficult to treat him.

“A person from Khurdha district has tested positive and is under treatment in a private hospital. Since the patient is also a diabetic, doctors are taking extra care,” Public Health Director Kailash Dash said.

The condition of the patient is said to be critical.
