OOA land row: Measurement of Odisha’s Barabati Stadium begins

The Cuttack district administration today began measurement of the Barabati Stadium in connection with the land dispute involving Odisha Olympic Association (OOA).

Acting on the directions of the tehsildar Cuttack (Sadar), officials of the Commissioner for Land Records and Settlement today took measurements of the Barabati Stadium here. The OOA was granted 20.808 acres of land for development of sports way back in 1949.

Tehsildar Cuttack (Sadar) Abani Patnaik said that the survey was being done to ascertain how the allotted land was being put to use adding that it would continue for 2-3 more days.  The Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) too has begun survey of Barabati Stadium.

“We are conducting a physical survey and measurement of the land given to OOA by the government on lease. The survey is intended to find out how much of the allotted land is under their occupation. What are located in its surrounding area? How much government land has been encroached upon? What activities are going on in these lands? We are conducting a physical survey and measurement in regard”, said Abani Patnaik, tehsildar, Cuttack (Sadar).
