Odisha’s Excise and Cooperation minister and senior BJD leader Damodar Rout today blamed the opposition parties for the Polavaram issue’s present status in his reactions to the Congress’s allegation against the BJD vis-à-vis the controversial dam project in Andhra Pradesh.
Rout said “The state government has done everything that was required to oppose the Polavaram project. The present situation has arisen because opposition parties have not opposed the project in a united manner as was required of them”.
State Congress leaders, while staging a dharna at the Raj Bhawan today, had blamed the weak leadership of the state for the present situation on Polavaram.
