Balasore: The Orissa High Court in an interim order today directed the Crime Branch to take over the question paper leak case of the Junior Engineer (Civil) main examination conducted by the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC).

As per the court order, the investigation will be led under the supervision of a DIG ranked official. The High Court raised questions on engaging a Kolkata-based private press for printing of question papers for the government exam.

In a major relief for aspirants, those who had qualified the written exam which was later cancelled,  will also be allowed to appear for the test once again but the outcome will be decided basing on the verdict of the earlier petition, the court ruled.

On July 23, the OSSC cancelled JE (Civil) main examination conducted on July 16 after Balasore SP confirmed the question paper leak. The commission has also rescheduled the examination to September 3. So far, 27 arrests have been made in this connection.
