OTET exams to go ahead despite reports of question leak, says BSE, Odisha

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) today made it clear that the second Odisha Teachers’ Eligibility Test (OTET) would be held as per the schedule tomorrow despite reports of leakage of question papers in Gajapati district.

OTET-2014In a statement issued late this evening, the Board maintained that there was no leakage of OTET question papers as was reported from Gajapati district earlier in the day. “All question papers in the eight examination centres in the district have been found intact. This indicates that the question papers  being sold are fake,” the Board said the comminque.

Earlier in the day, the Gajapati police today seized some purported question papers at Tatipiti village under Gurandi police station limits and detained four persons in this connection.

 

Talking to the media, Gajapati SP Satyajit Nayak said the police, acting on a tip-off about the sale of question papers, raided Tatipiti village under Gurandi police station limits and seized the question papers.

Police later detained four persons.

“Interrogation of the four detained persons is on,” the SP added.

A total of 93,952 candidates will appear for the test at 207 centres across the state.

The test will be held in two sittings. The first sitting will be held from 10 AM to 12.30 PM and the second sitting from 2 PM to 4.30 PM. Of the 93,952 candidates, 50,634 will appear for Paper-I in the first sitting while 43,318 candidates will appear for Paper-II in the second sitting.
