Over 100 SHGs in Odisha donate to fight against Covid-19

Bhubaneswar: Donations have been pouring in to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), and extending helping hand to fight against the deadly Covid-19, Self Help Groups (SHGs) under Mission Shakti from across Odisha have come forward and donated Rs11.86 lakh to the CMRF.

With the number of cases rising in the state, more than 100 Self Help Groups(SHGs) took a decision to make contribution in order to support the Government of Odisha in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The members of the Self Help Groups under Mission Shakti all over Odisha met with their collectors and donated the amount to them.

Recently, 400 SHGs had come forward to make 50,000 masks a day to help the state government in its fight against the deadly viral disease.

CM Naveen Patnaik lauded their efforts and said it was heartening to see the all-round response of women, especially members of Mission Shakti Self-Help Groups, during this critical hour.

In Odisha, total number of positive cases have reached 50, out of which 12 have recovered and one died.
