Over 16,000 bottles of cough syrup seized in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Patnagarh police today seized more than 16,000 bottles of cough syrup from a godown in Luhasinha area of Odisha’s Balangir district.

Around 100 cartons containing the cough syrup bottles were found at the godown. The seizure comes amid allegation of rampant consumption of cough syrup as a substitute for alcohol by youths in the town.

Police have started investigation into the incident while the accused has absconded.
