Over 200 liquor bottles seized, youth arrested in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar:  The Commissionerate Police today arrested a 35-year-old youth  of Nayagarh district after seizing huge quantity of illegal liquor from his possession near Gohira Chhak in Tamando area here today.

Acting on a reliable information, Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Commissionerate Police  and Tamando police conducted a raid in the vicinity of Gohira Chhak this morning and arrested one Prakash Kumar Parida, a resident of Badabarmul under Ranpur police limits in Nayagarh district.

During the search operation, the cops seized 202 bottles containing over 36 litres of liquor, Rs 5,420 cash, a SUV and a mobile phone from his possession.

A case under Sections 269, 270 and 188 of IPC, Section 188 of OUP Act and 52(a) of Odisha Excise Act. SI Pranab Tudu is further investigating the case, said police.
