Over 5 lakh new voters in Odisha: CEO

Bhubaneswar: Over 5 lakh new voters have been added to the final voter list in Odisha, informed State Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar here today.

In the final revised voter list, the number of voters has increased. Total 3,18,00,787 voters have been included in the list with the addition of new 5,48,454 new voters for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections this year, he said in a press conference.

Of the total number, 1.63 crore are male, 1.54 crore female and 2,932 transgenders in the final voter list.

However, 6,50,365 voters were removed from the list. There were 3,12,52,333 voters in Odisha before the revision of the list.
