Oxfam India felicitates “Agents of Change” in Odisha capital

Oxfam India, in association with its NGO partners in Odisha, organized felicitation of “Agents of Change” event at IDCOL Auditorium in the Odisha capital on Friday.

The event was held to recognize the immense contributions made by the community leaders whose leadership and consistent efforts has brought in a significant change in their respective communities in Odisha.

The occasion was graced by Akash Das Nayak, MLA, Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Commissioner of Police, Panchanan Kanungo, former Finance minister and Shakuntala Baliyarsingh, eminent writer.

Nineteen ‘Agents of Change’ from across the state working on issues of small holder’s agriculture, natural resource management, right to food, health, education, violence against women and disaster risk reduction were felicitated.

The ‘Agents of Change’ are those few amongst the many community members who have been contributing to bring in a positive change. These leaders, through continuous engagement with the NGO partners of Oxfam India, have now an understanding of the issues in their community and have been the front runners in bringing about change in the lives of many of their fellow community members.
