Pakistan beat India 4-3 in Champions trophy semis, to meet Germany in final tomorrow

Eerie silence prevailed the jam-packed Kalinga Stadium after India went down by 3-4 goals to Pakistan in a thrilling semi-final match in the Odisha capital tonight.

India drew the first blood when Gurjinder Singh converted a penalty corner in the 12th minute of the first quarter.

However, Pakistan came back strongly in the second quarter and scored the equaliser through Muhammad Arslan Qadir in the 17th minute. The visitors scored the second goal through Muhammad Waqas in the 32nd minute just after the first half.

The Indian team bounced back when Dharamvir Singh scored the equalizer in the 38th minute.

Though Pakistani skipper Muhammad Irfan gave the lead in the 44th minute, Chandanda Thimmaiah scored the in the 45th minute.

With the score level at 3-3, Muhammad Arslan Qadir scored the winning goal in the 59th minute.

In the final tomorrow, Pakistan would meet Germany which stormed into the final after beating Australia in the first semi-final match of the day.
