Pandian res ransacked: IAS assn to meet Odisha CM, Chief Secy, Home Secy

Bhubaneswar: A day after some BJP workers ransacked official residence of bureaucrat and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s private secretary V K Pandian, the IAS association today said that it will take up the matter with the CM demanding stern action against the culprits.

The association, which called a special meeting here stated that it is in full support of Pandian and will take up the matter with Chief Secretary and Home Secretary.

“Our demand is stringent action should be taken against the perpetrators and they must be brought to book as per the law,” said association secretary Vishal Dev adding they all stand united with Mr Pandian.

Expressing concern over such incidents, Deb said: “We strongly condemn all such attacks on government officers and all other officers who have been assaulted by miscreants in the past.”

The association has decided to meet the CM, the Chief Secretary and the Home Secretary to submit a resolution that has been passed today. It has also demanded follow-ups in such cases to bring the accused to books and prevent more such attacks from happening in future.

Notably, around 20 persons waving BJP flags parked their bikes, forced open the main gate, allegedly damaged flower pots and hurled cow dung at the bureaucrat’s house at VIR 7 in Unit VI area in the city.

Moments after the incident, Naveen condemned the act saying it’s “shocking”.
