Papu Pom Pom casting couch case: Know what victim’s mother said in court

Bhubaneswar: In the much talked about alleged minor girl casting couch case against Ollywood actor Tatwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pom Pom, the victim’s mother today levelled serious allegations against the police and Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

During the course of the hearing in the case at the Special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Court here today, the victim’s mother deposed that the police and CWC had taken her daughter without taking her permission while adding that they had not even informed her.

She claimed in her statement that her daughter had not told anything to her about the incident and she had come to know about it from television.

The victim’s mother further told POCSO court that she has a cordial relationship with Papu Pom Pom.

The POCSO court today summoned the victim to appear before it on December 11.

Notably, on July 1 this year, POCSO court framed charges against Papu Pom Pom in the case. He was charged under Sections 341, 323 and 354 of the IPC and Sections 8 and 12 of POCSO Act.

Papu Pom Pom is accused of sexually exploiting a minor girl on the pretext of giving her a break in movies.

The Twin City Commissionerate Police had arrested Papu Pom Pom and his aide Pradipta Swain alias Gitu on June 30 last year from an apartment in Puri.

Papu Pom Pom and Gitu were granted bail by the Orissa High Court on August 10 last year.
