Patient dies after ambulance hits divider at Odisha’s Nuapada

Nuapada: A patient was killed while three others suffered grievous injuries after an ambulance hit a divider in Boden block of Nuapada district in Odisha in the wee hours on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Janak Manahira of Dharanimala village in Boden block here. He was returning in the ambulance along with two others after treatment at a hospital.

As per reports, Janak was returning to his village after being discharged from a private hospital in Raipur when the ambulance hit the divider after the driver lost control of the vehicle at Bireskela within Boden police limits.

While Janak died at the spot, three others including the driver were critically injured. Locals rushed them to the community health centre at Boden where the victims are currently undergoing treatment.

Police reached the spot and have started investigation. The body has been seized for postmortem and the exact cause of death will be ascertained after the autopsy report arrives.
