Patient dies at hospital in Odisha’s Pipili due to ‘absence of doctor’

Pipili: A 40-year-old patient died at Pipili Government Hospital in Odisha’s Puri district allegedly due to absence of doctor in the medical and delay in treatment.

According to reports, Gajendra Muduli of Nagpur village under Gop police limits in the district fell ill last night. His family members immediately admitted him to the Pipili Government Hospital.

However, they have alleged of delay in treatment of Gajendra due to absence of doctor at the hospital. A pharmacist present at the hospital declared him dead, following which the kin of the deceased created ruckus at the medical.

As tension gripped the spot, policemen were deployed at the hospital in order to avoid any untoward incident.

Later, former Pipili MLA Yudhistir Samantray reached the hospital on being informed about the incident and pacified the family members of the deceased. He also held discussion with Puri Chief District Medical Officer for a probe into the matter.
