PDS kerosene seized from outskirts of Odisha capital

Around 7,000 litres of kerosene were seized by Khurda district administration during a raid in Pitapali area, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

A team lead by district supplies department director Binay Kumar Das acting on a tip off raided and seized around 7,000 litres PDS kerosene behind a hotel in Pitapali area, on Friday.

“We have found 30 big and 15 small barrels, in total we seized 45 barrels which were kept illegally here. The seized kerosene will be around 6000 to 7000 litres. No one has been arrested yet. We will first seize the kerosene and give it to wholesaler.  Then we will continue with our investigation”, said Binay Kumar Das.

The team got the information about the horded kerosene while conducting raids on two godowns in Jatni to trace illegal hoarding of pulses.

The two mills are Ma kali oil mill and Mahaveer dal mill which have been raided.

No claimants have come forward for the seized kerosene .
