Petrol prices fall sharply across Odisha after excise duty cut; Check rates for all districts

 

Bhubaneswar: Petrol prices got reduced sharply across Odisha today, a day after the Central Government announced cut in the excise duty.

Boudh district registered the highest decrease in the rate of the fuel as petrol became cheaper by Rs 10.34 in the district and was being sold at Rs 104.74 per litre.

Similarly, petrol costed Rs 103.19 per litre in Khordha and Rs 103.28 per litre in Cuttack.

The Central excise duty on petrol has been cut by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre, reducing the price of petrol by Rs 9.5 per litre and of diesel by Rs 7 per litre, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said yesterday.

The duty cut will have revenue implication of around Rs 1 lakh crore per year for the government.

The government has also decided that this year it will give a subsidy of Rs 200 per gas cylinder (upto 12 cylinders) to over 9 crore beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
