Phailin moves closer, 200 km away from Gopalpur

Very severe cyclonic storm, Phailin moved northwestwards during past 6 hours with a speed of 15 kmph and lay centred about 200 km southeast of Gopalpur, 200 km east-southeast of Kalingapatnam and 280 km south-southeast of Paradip, sources in the Met department said.

” It move northwestwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts between Kalingapatnam and Paradip, close to Gopalpur (Odisha) by this evening as a very severe cyclonic storm with a maximum sustained wind speed of 210-220 kmph gusting to 240 kmph,” the latest Met bulletin based on weather data analysis at 8.30 am this morning said.
