PLGA week of Maoists from today; security tightened in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Police have tightened security in Odisha’s Malkangiri district due to observance of People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) week by Maoists from today.

BSF, SOG and DVF personnel have been deployed in Maoist-affected areas of the district.

On the other hand, Maoist posters have been spotted in cut-off areas of the district in which the red rebels have asked people to observe the week and youths to join the PLGA.

Meanwhile, the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has stopped plying of buses in the district apprehending any untoward incident. A total of 25 buses have been taken off the roads, sources said.

Shops and business establishments remained closed in Maoist-hit areas of Malkangiri, sources added.
