Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the students of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) at Burla in Odisha's Sambalpur district, who created indigenously developed Sounding Rockets.

"We take pride in the fact that the satellites developed by our students and Sounding Rockets have reached space. The Sounding Rockets made by Odisha university students have also created many records," the PM said during his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme yesterday.

The VSSUT had last year registered its name in the Limca Book of Records as the first student body in the country to develop and launch a Sounding Rocket. It was designed and developed by students of Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering departments of VSSUT.
