About 27 percent of voters had exercised their franchise by 11 AM.

The polling, which began at 8 AM, would continue till 5 PM.

A total of 55 candidates are contesting the elections.

The counting of votes would begin at 8 AM tomorrow and the results would be announced later in the day.

The Ranpur NAC is composed of 15 wards with a population of 9969 of which 5300 are men and 4669 are women.

It may be mentioned that the election to the Ranpur NAC, which was to have been held along with polls for eight other urban local bodies (ULBs) in the state on April 7, had to be cancelled after it emerged that there were inconsistencies and inaccuracies in the reservation of wards on the basis of caste.
